GAWD stands for Gina's Affordable Web Design.

Gina being Gina Geick, founder of this company and head of the design department. Clever, huh? Well, maybe not. It is, however, very much how this company started and how it continues to describe its objective: to deliver a high quality, functional product  - at rates that won't break the bank.

The majority of our clients fall into the small business category. A small (or start-up) business does not need a 50-page website, with animation, intranet integration and the likes. Even most medium size businesses don't. What you need as a small business or someone just getting your feet wet with a new venture, is an approximately 10-page website, which outlines who you are, what you do, why your website visitors should choose you over your competitor down the road, and how to get in touch with you. And that's exactly what we'll build for you. For starters, at least. Perhaps, in 6-12 months time, you may want to re-evaluate, and who knows?  By then your main business focus may have changed or you will have learned what sells and what doesn't, and if you want to upgrade then - by all means, let's do it!

Web Design has changed a great deal over the last 20 years. What used to be mainly a graphic design and HTML job has become data base programming and customization of ready-made website applications. This doesn't mean that artistic presentation has to or should suffer, though. While usability, mobile display, load time, accessibility, and being optimized for search engines are all important, you'll only get to make a first impression once. It is very tempting to design your site to show as high in search results as possible, and SEO has become its own industry long ago. But, search engines will not buy products or services from you -  people will. We'll need to design your site to appeal to your potential customers as much, or even more than the ever changing and ever more demanding search algorithms.

The cost for a typical small business web design project is $1500.00 (plus HST). This includes the installation and setup of Joomla! CMS (Content Management System), and pages developed according to YOUR specifications, with your images and content, as well as Search Engine Optimization and 2 hours of training.
